Story
Holocaust Remembrance Day, which falls on the same day as the Miami Marathon & Half Marathon, has even more poignant resonance this year, as the Jewish community continues to process the grief and trauma from the deadly October 7th attacks, when the most Jews were killed in a single day since the end of the Holocaust. While many of us have been focused on the ongoing situation in Israel and the disturbing global rise in anti-semitism, we cannot forget that in our own community, there are still hundreds of survivors of the Holocaust living in poverty and whose needs are only growing as they age. As in past years, I am once again reaching out for your help in raising money to help these survivors.
This year, the Jewish Community Service (JCS) Alliance will again be joining forces with Team Blue Card in the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon to raise money for needy Holocaust survivors. Team Blue Card is a national organization that provides financial assistance to Holocaust survivors living in poverty. For the past 14 years, the JCS Alliance Young Professionals group has run for this cause and has raised over $500,000. Last year, the JCS Alliance alone raised $44K, and many of you were instrumental in this effort. As the team founder and co-chair, I am honored to be leading a team of 12 amazing runners, who are giving of their time and bodies to raise money and awareness for our cause. Our team this year hopes to far exceed this goal and we need your help to do so. Together, we can send a message of hope and unity at a time of fear and division.
Please note that Kavod Shef will match your donations up to $350K. This means your donations make an exponential impact and no donation is too small (or too large!).
Thank you so much for any contribution you can make to this cause that is so close to my heart.
Warm regards,
Adam
